This urban densification project makes possible the recovery of an abandoned site in Veracruz, Veracruz. The site of 23x4.5 m has the advantage of having an easy access to transportation routes, commerce and school zones. The densification proposal is based in a mixed-use building. It contains six low budget single bedroom apartments and two commerce units located at the street level. Both the apartment and commerce units have view and direct access to a pedestrian street and a public park located in front of the northern facade of the building; these spaces have the potential of becoming recreational and public hot spots.
Due to the site’s characteristics, a minimal yet efficient architectural program is proposed. The arrangements include movable furniture units, so the space can be readapted and transformed to the user’s needs.
